að, to jolt, rattle, of a thing badly fitted; það gjögtar til og frá.

Orthography: The Cleasby & Vigfusson book used letter ö to represent the original Old Norse vowel ǫ. Therefore, gjögta may be more accurately written as gjǫgta.
