f. [Dan. morgen-gave, Germ. morgen-gabe], a bridal gift, made by the bridegroom to his bride on the morning after the wedding, Fas. i. 345; cp. bekkjargjöf.

Orthography: The Cleasby & Vigfusson book used letter ö to represent the original Old Norse vowel ǫ. Therefore, morgun-gjöf may be more accurately written as morgun-gjǫf.
