f. a settler; dólgs-s., a ‘strife-settler’, peace-maker, of the peace-mill, Gs., cp. also the verse in Eg. ch. 67.

Orthography: The Cleasby & Vigfusson book used letter ö to represent the original Old Norse vowel ǫ. Therefore, sjötul may be more accurately written as sjǫtul.
