a, m. = snakkr (q. v.), a word used in western Icel.: [Fin. para; Swed. bjára; whence probably til-beri, for in witchcraft and sorcery the Finns were the teachers, and it is more likely that the Scandin. borrowed this word from them than the reverse.]
