- t, = tykta (q. v.), changing kt into pt; analogous is stipti from stikti, Bs. i. 805, 846, Lil. 81, (not from τύπτω, as suggested in Lex. Poët.); this form is freq. in mod. usage, whereas tykta is obsolete.
