Völsi

Old Norse Dictionary - völsi

Meaning of Old Norse word "völsi" (or vǫlsi)

As defined by the Cleasby & Vigfusson Old Norse to English dictionary:

völsi (vǫlsi)
a. m. [evidently the same word as Gr. φαλλός], the name of a heathen phallus-idol, as to which see the curious story in Fb. ii. 331–336 (called Völsa-þáttr).
