Fb. ii. 209; in old writers only recorded in this instance: in mod. usage, Icel. say, luma á e-u, to keep or hoard, of money, with a notion of stealth or closeness, hann lumir á penningum (of small savings), or hann lumaði (for lumði?) á því; perh. Dan. lomme = pocket is a kindred word.
