n. a ‘day-fare,’ journey, used in dat. in the phrase, fara dagfari ok náttfari, to travel day and night, Fms. i. 203; hann hafði farit norðan dagfari, in a single day’s journey, ix. 513.

2 dag-far

2. mod. and theol. the ‘journey of life,’ daily course, conduct; hence dagfars-góðr, adj. good and gentle.
