or fimm-tugr, adj. fifty years old, Fms. xi. 75:—measuring fifty (ells, fathoms, or the like), cp. áttræðr.

Orthography: The Cleasby & Vigfusson book used letter ö to represent the original Old Norse vowel ǫ. Therefore, fimm-tögr may be more accurately written as fimm-tǫgr.
