Hárf.: as a title, a duke (e. g. of Normandy); the first Norse duke was the earl Skuli, created duke A. D. 1237, vide Edda 104, SkS. 788, Gþl. 364: eccl. = prince, hertogi myrkranna, Satan, 623. 31.
