2. a short sock; hefir flagnað framan af fætinum öðrum skinnit með nöglunum á þann hátt sem leistr, Bs. i. 618; ok brann í gegnum skóinn ok leistinn (v. l. hosuna), ok fótrinn brann, Þiðr. 358, v. l.: mod., há-leistr, a ‘hough-last,’ a sock reaching to the ankle: poët., hyrjar-leistr, Ýt. 20; leista tré, the leg, Edda 100.
