u, f. a ‘skald-quean,’ a poetess, a nickname of a woman, for which the reason given is this; hann átti Þórhildi skáldkonu, ‘hón var orðgífr mikit ok fór með flimtan,’ she was a ‘word-witch,’ and made libels, Nj. 49.
