a, m. (skaperi, 623. 22), prop. a ‘shaper,’ but only used in a Biblical sense, the Maker, Creator, Edda (pref.), MS. 677. 2: freq. in mod. usage, the Bible, Pass., Vídal., Hymns; e. g. Skapari himins og jarðar, Skapari stjarna Herra hreinn, Einn Guð skapari allra sá, etc.
