f. pl. [cp. Ulf. tainjo = κόφινος], a basket, creel, used for fishing; eigi eigu menn at leggja net um þvera á né göra teinor í eða góra garða eða ker, nema einn maðr eigi alla ána, Grág. ii. 350. teina-stæði, n. a place where creels are put (in a river), D. N. i. 889.
