Poët. passim: as also in poët. compds, hjaldr-reifr, -gegninn, -móðr, -örr, -ríkr, -snjallr, -stríðr, -þorinn, adj. = martial, warlike; the sword is hjaldr-blik, -íss, -kyndill, -linnr, -skíð; the battle, hjaldr-el, -drif, -ganga; the shield, hjaldr-ský; a raven, hjaldr-gagl, -trani; a warrior, hjaldr-gegnir, -magnaðr, -remmir, -snerrandi, -týr, -viðurr: hjaldr-goð = Odin; vide Lex. Poët.
