Brölta

Old Norse Dictionary - brölta

Meaning of Old Norse word "brölta" (or brǫlta)

As defined by the Cleasby & Vigfusson Old Norse to English dictionary:

brölta (brǫlta)
t, [bratl and bratla, Ivar Aasen], to tumble about (as a cow in a bog), Ld. 328, Nj. 27, Jómsv. S. (Ed. 1824), p. 38 (breylti); FmS. xi. 129 has a false reading breysti. brölt, n. a tumbling about.
