Old Norse Dictionary - föður-systir

Meaning of Old Norse word "föður-systir" (or fǫður-systir)

[whence Dan. faster], f. a father’s sister, Grág. i. 171, Fms. iv. 24; füðursystur-dóttir, the daughter of a father’s sister, a niece, Hkr. iii. 170.
