t, to put to shame; suma hafi hón látið klækja á nokkurn hátt, Fas. iii. 75; ok telr þat manngi munu gört hafa at klækjask á við hann, Ísl. ii. 319; hence the mod. klekkja á e-m, to punish one; engi skal dirfask at göra henni kinnroða eðr klækja hana um, at hún fari fátækliga, Stj. 423.
