adj. [A. S. treowe-fast; Old Engl. true-fast; Dan. troe-fast]:—truthful, faithful, of belief: trusty, Bs. i. 392; hann var maðr trúfastr ok vel siðaðr, Eg. 770; vitr kona ok trúföst, Blas. 50: as a nickname of the English king Athelstan, Eg. 265, Fms. i. 15.
