m., in Norway, an endowed man, holding grants from the king, Gþl. 108; lendir menn ok veizlumenn allir, N. G. L. ii, Hirðskrá ch. 36: but in Icel. it means a pauper living upon charity, hér á at vera v. kvengildr, Pm. 121, Ám. 14.
