or viðr-staða, u, f. a withstanding, resistance; fékk hann enga viðstöðu, Eg. 34, 270, Fms. i. 28; þeir höfðu eigi viðstöðu ok flýðu, viii. 401; varð engi viðrstaða, Hkr. i. 67. viðstöðu-laust, n. adj. without a stop, instantly.
