[Scot. wappenshaw, Old Mortality], a ‘weapon show,’ muster, a meeting where all the franklins had to appear and produce for inspection the arms which every man was lawfully bound to have, Gþl. 106; um morguninn átti konungr v., ok kannaði lið sitt, Fms. ix. 478; hafi hann atgeirinn til Valhallar ok beri þar fram á vápna-þingi, Nj. 119.
