1. n. a laying hold of; vera góðr, íllr tiltaks, to be good or ill to resort to, Ó. H. 44; höndin varð honum hvergi betri tiltaks, the hand was of little use to him, Ld. 140, Eg. 524; urðu konungi því verri tiltaks menninir, ok fékk hann lítið lið, Ó. H. 177; þeir kváðu nú lítið tiltak hjá sér vera mundu sakir fastra heita við Sturlu, Bs. i. 626.
