[Dan. tryne; trana and trjóna seem to be akin]:—a snout, Lat. rostrum, Fms. vi. 143 (of a serpent); með gínandum trjónum, Landn. 257 (Hb.): of a hammer, trjónu-tröll, the ‘snout-ogress,’ of the hammer of Thor, Haustl.: of projecting land, Selmeina trjóna, the ness of Selund, i. e. Zealand, Hkr. i. (in a verse).
